7 differences

decided to do some blogging while im online. finally online frm my room, using my own lappie and having a barcardi lime bottle at an arm's length. explain to me again why im enjoying myself plenty plenty on this trip? :)

anyhow, her's some differences i found in the way things work here:

1. delivery times are never as they claim it to be. always set a time and be thr much ltr, no harm done to anyone except for the punctual one. experienced it first hand ytd when i was waiting for my lappie to come. yeah, i know, shit happens

2. never throw your used toilet paper into the sewage system as it leads to difficulty in flushing and lots of problems. plus, everyone here throws the toilet paper in a bin which wil be cleared at the end of the day

3. i never really knew how to appreciate home cooked food till i came to beijing and realised that my sch canteen has food 10x saltier dan those at home (boy, which reminds me of how much i miss laine's mummy's cooking - its ever so yummy and healthy)

4. drink only mineral water or boiled water. u aint wanna be like me having a horrible tummy upset ths days. haha, not that i dont drink mineral water, but my stomach is jus a lil weak that even mineral water doesnt help

5. GO PUBBING & CLUBBING daily if u have the stamina. booze is dirty cheap and it makes me hard to part with my moolah if i had to go back to sg to club. the places of night life is pretty fantastic if u pay the right price and man - it is happening!

6. never come in the summer. its super hot and u get real sweaty jus walking frm one place ot another- plus with few shopping malls in my area here im in shorts and tanks everyday. well, but coming here in this season meansa darker tan!!! :)

7. always bargain and speak chinese when ure bargaining. if all else fails, walk away - u'd either hear them calling back for u agreeing to the slashed price or u'd be able to find the same exact thing by walking on down to the next few stores! i bought a fantastic clubbish glam top for like 8 SGD. OMG! will post pics of myself in it when i can.

well, i love the number 7 so im stopping here. but rmb, thr are lots of cultural differences being in a such a unique place like china. it aint really well, but it aint really heaven either :)
